One of those weekends you felt never was!!!
Friday started rainy! I mean crazy crazy rain. I was out for an interview on Friday evening - have I told you I've been appearing for interviews - like a lot of them. No luck on any so far - though any good luck wishes will be highly appreciated!!!
So anyway in the rain, I started a pizza craving. You know the kind where you imagine soft, gooey, melty, cheesy, warm pizza straight out of the box. But it never happened. I went home to a hungry husband and FIL. So I quickly got to getting their dinners ready before I proceeded to make something for myself. I came home ravenously hungry but by the time I actually sat down to eat, I had lost my appetite totally!!! I don't think I can even count the number of times my mum would have done this for us! And she never said a word, ever. Anyway, chocolate reeses were in order as a post dinner snack!
Saturday the gym was off, and I woke up too late for a run! I did a Jillian Micheal yoga video instead, and felt a slightly sore core on Sunday. I love that kind of exercise :) Satuday was filled with compromised eating choices, uncessary snacking and just feeling blah!!! By the evening, I was having a house teeming with guests with some more expected on Sunday morning. My kitchen turned into a ceaseless coffee manufacturing unit and my home felt like a bee hive. Sunday started with more people pouring in and therefore more many more coffee and tea orders taken. The guests needed attention, food was to be cooked in my utensils which I usually cook only for 3-4 people, I had only Maami for help! Suddenly cooking for like 12 adults and having about 5 kids in the house and that too from the IL's side , I was a bit nervous and wanted to live up to what was expected of me. I happily forgot about the run I really wanted to go on - with simply perfect running weather in Bangalore! I felt guilty, ate a truck load of carbs and was feeling totally icky by lunch time.
One batch of the guests had left and some more were arriving early Sunday evening. I promised myself that life would return to normal come Monday morning - where there will be exercise and responsible eating. And did I forget? Monday is the start of Chittu's school year! So I get an added 1km walk in the morning :) Yayy for me! Supermom ain't I?
Hope you guys had a good weekend!

ReplyDeleteYes... I am being patient on that front... We had got him started last year itself, so he's lovin' it!
DeleteBest of Luck on the future interviews. Guest are good exercise(cooking , running and managing) so dont fret that you didnt get any running in.
ReplyDeleteThankyou... I guess you are right.. I barely sat down all the time they were there and barely ate too!!!
DeleteSugar, you will get the job that is right for you, which you are destined for! All the best for that! With regards to visitors-I'm at the other end of the spectrum where there is no visitors, and we normally need to take appointments with 'friends' around to visit although I miss having family or 'IL's around-so you're lucky in that! Is this chittu's first year in school? How is he liking it?
ReplyDeleteYes totally! No frets there...but only hoping the right thing comes by :)
DeleteAbout guests - you have a totally different situation - and thats most of the reason the Scientist will not move abroad!!! Chittu is continuing school.. it is not new but was after a long summer break :)
