A mishy mashy come back post, and Oh my God! a 10k next week?

Yikes! Is it September? Was it not just a couple of months ago that I made a list of things to do for 2012, and we are already heading into the last quarter for this year? This year has been a good one for me in terms of fitness and I was probably in super duper shape in July, just before heading out to the US on my month long vacation. And then what happened?

All I can remember now is a blur of the cups of ice cream from Coldstone Creamery, the oodles of cheese at various restaurant meals, almost no exercise after the first 10 days of my holiday, but wait! The fun? Oh my.. that was just too much. I enjoyed my break, my time in a new country and basically simply had a blast.

I know I should complete my travel blog posts, but I simply had to come back and post here because nothing keeps me accountable like this blog does. I have my first 10 k coming up in less than 10 days, and I'm really nervous. I broke the ice with exercise by doing a fun 5-k run this morning, stopping to walk as and when I felt tired. Seriously, I don't know if I am going to be the last one to finish, but heck I am going to do this anyway! Running has boosted my morale, like crazy and I'm going to forge ahead.

My goals for September would be to first complete the 10k and then try to shake off the 3 kilograms that my holiday gifted me :) I figured that I need to reach goal weight sometime soon, and I better get my act together!

Thats all for now folks! How have you guys been? I'm currently jet lagged like crazy and trying to fix a cockroach infested home, while also managing my job, other home bound duties, a toddler who is still in US time zone, trying to run a 10 k and coming back to the real life that contains lesser sugar and cheese. Sounds like I'm doing a lot, eh?

  2. Great to read about your vacation.. I am craving for one too!!
And 10k run.. I can never even think of doing that! 1K itself is so tiring that at the end of it, I feel I'm going straight up :P
    Good luck for that! :)
