Running and Bangalore

Ever since I started running, I've been pretty wary of injury. I don't want a ruined knee, considering my ankles are already in bad state (read: extremely sensitive state) after the dual fracture. Also I don't want to land up being bed ridden for some ridiculous overambition of mine -deciding to run long distances, when in fact I have not done anything of the like in my whole life. I even stayed away from PT class runs, back in school, because I was so sonscious of running and secondly I just did not think I would ever come to enjoy it.

Once I was confident enough to undertake longer runs,I first figured out the shoes part. And then it was The Scientist who actually drove me to take up running on trail ground i.e natural muddy surface than the hard tar roads. Although there is something I find very "cool" about running through the major roads in the city, along the shopping district and under the metro rail, around plush residential localities and through high end city malls, who can resist running around a lake,  lush gardens, amidst the chirping birds, quacking ducks, misty air and so many motivated runners/ walkers who are up in the wee hours of a chilly bangalore morning to get in their dose of exercise.

I leave you, dear reader, with pictures from my run. And do tell me, if you envy me?

the lake with quacking ducks and look at the trees.. do you also see the people walking on the other side?

Early morning view of the rising sun. And thats how running becomes strangely meditative :)

The peeping sun from dense foliage!

Pretty gardens and the trees have a signboard with its common and biological name on it!

Will you believe it if I said that this place is smack in the middle of the city? Don't you love, love, love Bangalore? Well, I do. Even though I love Chennai in December!

  4. Envy you? Talk about it! :D
I now realise what I am missing because of the fact that I am not an early riser! I'm sure Pune must be pretty similar too.. though there are not many parks around place!
