Of whats up at my end?

In the penultimate week of 2012, I had fixed an appointment to see my endocrinologist. Though my thyroid test results seemed perfect, I am finding it way too hard to lose weight and way too easy to regain the minimal weight that I do lose. Also my overall wellness has been at an all time low. Those of you reading me know that I have battled gas related problems for quite a long time now. It might be a long term effect of eating less but right now, the issue has started to bother me pretty badly.  I feel bloated and heavy ALL the time, and mornings are usually really bad with the gas troubling me so much that I develop lower back pain and cannot even stand.

When I was on my holiday in the last week of December, I ate larger portions of home cooked food. I think I can safely say that even though the gas trouble still persisted, atleast it was not so bad that I could not bear to stand on my feet.

I am going to discuss this today with the doctor and see if there might be an underlying problem that I need to address. Alternately I expect that I will be referred to a dietician /nutritionist who will recommend that I include salads at all three meals. Honestly, I have come to a point where I think I am ready to even pop weight loss pills.

In other news, I am going to join a running group tomorrow. It seems like they run together every Saturday morning. I am not much of an extrovert and honestly feel a bit nervous. But I simply want to give it a try. I will continue if I like it or go back to my solo runs if I find that I do not feel comfortable.

Those are the updated from my world. It's friday, and I so glad!!!

  2. Just got here from dee's blog. I am following your journey and very impressed at the progress that you have made so far. Try changing your workout routine. I did that and it helped. I got jillian michaels DVD from Amazon and did her "30 day shred" and "No more trouble zones". It really helped me in sculpting my body (not like the beefy guys) in a nice way. I could see the V of my waist, which was a huge achievement.
Try these DVDs and see if they help. I used to run a lot all the time and it only helped me to some extent, but I hit a plateau soon. That is when, these DVDs helped.

    1. Thanks for stopping by deepa and leaving me your thoughts. I really appreciate it!

Yep that's reason I love my body pump classes. It has really shaped me up! The reason I dont do DVD workouts is because of Chittu. He hates if I go behind closed doors :) and in a little 2bhk provacy is a problem.

  3. Hey Sugar,

I was thinking of joining a running club but I am still in two minds-as I have an ongoing knee problem,Hoping your doc's appointment went well!

    1. Sheetal - nice to see you back here. Running with knee problems is not exactly a good idea in my opinion. I always tell people that I started running after two years of consistent exercise. Plus I am a dancer, so my stamina is pretty good.
Running is high impact and you must be very careful or you might injure yourself badly. Speak to your doc and figure it out!

  6. Dear Sugar,

I wrote a big comment and don't know where it vanished. So writing again.

First of all hats off to you for losing a considerable amount of weight. You started at 100 kilos and you are down to 70s, good show girl. With your determination I am sure the final weight loss is just around the corner.

Also wanted to share that you inspired me to run. I used to read about running on your blog and on MeVersusFat, and both you girls really motivated me to take up running. I am working on my running stamina right now.

Joining a running club is a great idea, will try to find one in my area too.

    Lots of love to you.

    regards

    1. Dear Shiva, your comments are always so kind. Thankyou! Those words are so sweet to hear. I do hope to reach my goal weight!!!
Yes running is my new found joy. I find running meditative, therapeutic and also immensely satisfying as I set goals and work on achieving them! Can you actually run in the middle east? Is that possible in the desert heat?

  7. Dear Sugar,

Yes we can actually run in Middle East. The weather is really nice from September to March. There is a running club here that tends to run early morning.

As for me I run on the treadmill :).

    Love
