A little panic is good ?

I guess last Thursday, I totally panicked about my under-preparedness for the race. Thursday on this is what I've done:

Thursday - JM -30DS- level 2
Friday - 5.5k run
Saturday - 6 week 6 pack abs
Sunday - 8 k run
Monday - Shred it with weights - level 1

Thought the exercise streak looks good, let me tell you that its a bit delayed!!!

Today the Auroville Facebook page reminded me that I should have run a 10k by now!!! Ha!

Hopefully it is not too late for me to make up for the lost time. Here is the plan for upcoming long runs:

22/12 - 10k
29/12 - 12k
05/01 -12k
12/01 -14k
19/01 -16k
26/01 -16k
02/02 -12k
09/02 - RACE DAY!!!!

As you can see, the progress is pretty fast. I don't want anyone reading this blog to think I'm insane!! Remember, I did train a half earlier this year. And I been consistently running for more than a year now. And therefore I am certainly not being drastic. I will also simultaneously be focussing on strength training - core, glutes, hammies and quads. So I think this a doable plan, as frightful as it may seem!!!

I am also going to be having two long runs on vacation next week. True test for my commitment, I guess. Lets see how I do!

  1. Awesome plan. Good luck. The numbers scare me though. I can barely run 2 kms at a stretch and only collapse after that. You are a true inspiration.
